blown glass, hand blown glassOne of the hardest aspects of life on my own is figuring out how to create a peaceful place to come home to that looks better then a dorm room. I may still have that college mentality but I do appreciate a nice looking home. I went to my dad for some advice in this area. He has staged his home to be comfortable yet classy with smart decorative purchases. He told me that as of the past few months all of the stuff he’d been adding to bookshelves, dressers and mantles was abstract hand blown glass. Some of which he made himself in a weekend class and other pieces he found online.

I figured why not try it and went in search of blown glass vases online. After finding a well priced blue stretched accordion shaped 12 inch vase and seeing how the sun reflected though it when the window was open, I became hooked to hand blown glass. It looks cool, creates a nice place for light to travel through and really adds to a home’s ambiance.
