My husband asked me what I wanted for Valentine's Day. Since I have started collecting hand blown glass, I can't think of any other gift that would make my day other than a piece of murano hand blown glass. This is some of the most beautiful glass I have found on the market.
Since I was looking for some pieces of hand blown glass to show him, I found a fantastic ecommerce store called My Glass Beautiful located at http://www.myglassbeautiful.com. This internet store carries not only new murano hand blown glass; but, it carries pre-owned pieces. Finding these pieces means finding great financial deals! I was thrilled! However, the best part of discovering the site was finding a lovely heart shaped ashtray by murano.
If you are a collector of any objects, there is nothing more exciting than finding an internet store that carries your collectibles. Blown glass is by far one of the most stunning types of art in today's hand blown glass market. There is even murano glass jewelry that many collectors favor. Personally, I love the murano hand blown glass plates, ashtrays, vases, exotic pieces and bowls the best. The color combinations are pure eye candy. This particular site has some of the best prices I have found anywhere.
When going antiquing, you find various pieces of blown glass; but, the artists that devotes time for the murano glass or murano glass jewelry is one of my favorites.
Thus far, I have over thirty pieces of murano. They range in value from $25 to $500. This is the type of collectible that only increases in value, and I plan on adding to the collection for some time. By the time I leave this Earth, I will be leaving something not only beautiful; but, I will be leaving something extremely valuable to my children and grandchildren.
Luckily, my daughters also share my love of hand blown glass, and they have started their own collections. Occasionally, I am able to enter one of my pieces in competitions. One piece in particular has won in several shows. This simply means I am making good decisions in my buys, and I have a good eye for murano hand blown glass objects.
The best thing about collecting anything is the knowledge you learn about your subject. I have enjoyed learning the history of murano, the way the artist prepares the pieces, and how long it takes, what determines the price, and who are some of these great artists. My granddaughter, Kendra, has shown an interest in the blown glass collection, and I am passing my knowledge to her.
Who knows, I may have a true glass blower in my own family...How exciting to discover that in the process of finding something to show my husband I want for Valentine's Day, I have found an ecommerce store that enhances my own collection!
