blown glass, hand blown glass

I have always been an artworks collector, and one of the things I find most beautiful and a favorite collectible of mine is murano hand blown glass.  Since this is usually an expensive item, I was delighted to locate an online discount store that carried pre-owned murano blown glass.  The store is called My Glass Beautiful and it is located at http://www.myglassbeautiful.com

When I found this fantastic discount internet store, I found several pieces I simply had to add to my collection.  One was a Pre-owned Murano Glass Piece.  It was so lovely and unusual, and I didn't have anything comparable to it.  Since receiving some money for Christmas, I felt I could splurge and get that particular piece.  I also found other pieces of hand blown glass, some murano glass jewelry and some other styles of blown glass.  Needless to say, I ordered several pieces.

I remember when I first started collection hand blown glass.  It was so delicate and beautiful, and I really wanted to safely display it.  Finally, I found an antique display case, and it worked perfectly in my great room.  When I put together all of my finds, it made one of the most magnificent displays I had ever seen.  Whenever any of my friends or family come to visit, they stand in awe as they observe the collection.  I have even had some of them ask to purchase one from me.  Of course, they are not for sale...that is what a collection is about...and I love collecting.

One of the joys I do experience is giving a piece of the marano hand blown glass to a family member or friend for an extremely special occasion.  I have done this several times, and I know how much they each treasured their gift.  Having the information available about each piece makes the gift even more special.  If I have it, I include what I have or I type a small description giving the history or origin of the gift.  This has been especially popular, and I plan on continuing this practice as long as I can afford it.

However, I mostly plan on leaving my wonderful collection to my children and grandchildren.  They love it, and I know it will be appreciated and taken care of.  Having something so beautiful in your possession makes you appreciate the workmanship, the time and the energy that went into making each piece.  It takes a very talented glass blower to make something so outstanding.  Luckily, that skill is still around.
