     Hand blown glass has fascinated my wife ever since I can remember. She has been collecting Murano glass jewelry for a long time, and her collection is pretty substantial. Our last child at home just left for college, and I have made plans for a vacation for my wife and I alone, for the first time. She has no idea what I have planned, and frankly I think she is going to have a conniption fit when she does find out. She thinks we are going to visit my brother in California, and so that is why she needs her passport, to get into Mexico. I must say that I am pretty thoughtful and sneaky when I have to be.

     After freaking out and saying "I can't believe this" over and over again, she settled down and just sat there smiling. Murano, Italy was our destination, and the hand blown glass craftsmen that are there are the best in the world. We tooled around town, visiting this shop and that shop, taking in the culture, smells, noises and sights of this beautiful place. What a vacation.
