blown glass, hand blown glassI moved into a new apartment this past week with a couple of friends. One of them is slowly still moving his stuff in as he has all the time in the world with a lease at his other place that doesn’t end until the end of this month. At this point, he is just carting up carloads of assorted decorative pieces and clothes he doesn’t wear often. All of the big stuff will come in a couple of weeks. What he does have that the other two of us didn’t were lots of cool home décor pieces like blown glass vases, framed pieces of art and assorted pots with wavy sticks poking out. With his help our bachelor pad is going to have quite the ambiance. Not often seen with three young guys.

He sold me on how much life hand blown glass pieces bring to a room. Our living room has a few different spots to place such artwork. When the shades are open and the sun is pouring through the glass patio windows, the color of the blown glass really shows well. He told me many of the buys came from online retailers, some from flea markets and others from a past girlfriend. Wherever the blown glass came from they look great.
