Creating the Hand Blown Ceiling Art Look for Cheap |

I was watching a renovation show on the Home Network the other night featuring an artsy couple who were looking to rehab an old decrepit residence into a home to start a family in. In the spirit of saving money, they got very creative, doing much of the work themselves. In the entrance to their living room, they wanted to create something similar to the blown glass picture above. If you have ever been to the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas then you have seen this amazing work of ceiling art. Imagine the picture above being the ceiling for a chunk of the casino’s entry way. It’s really something.
Since buying this many pieces of blown glass would cost an arm and a leg, the wife went out and found a bunch of hand blown pieces from a weekend market nearby. After getting an assortment of colors and shapes she stuck them in front of lighting secured into this hallway ceiling crevasse. When the hand blown pieces were set on the ceiling, she installed a plastic protective sheet in front with light shining through the back of the pieces. Following the arc of the hallway archway entrance it turned out really cool.
