hand blown, blown glassMy family was invited to one of my best friend's wedding; it was to be held in San Diego.  We love going to San Diego so we knew we'd have a good time!

Well, I just couldn't think of what to get my best friend for her wedding gift, so I waiting until I went to San Diego to search for a gift.  We finally found a wonderful little shop that sold hand blown glass art.  I walked into this little shop and I was astounded at how many different things that were created using the hand blown glass method!  I looked at so many hand blown glass items and all of them were lovely, but none of them felt like the right piece that was until I reached the back corner of the store.  There was the most beautiful, meaning full piece of hand blown glass art work that I saw in the whole store!  It was a piece I like to call 'The Mother and Child', and it was just perfect for my friend.  I hand the owner gift wrap it for me and off we went.  The next day was the wedding and I couldn't wait to give my friend the beautiful hand blown gift that I had chosen for her and her new husband!

My friend got married in her mother's beautiful two story home.  It was like a scene from a movie.  My friend came cascading down the stair case as she came to meet her husband to be.  The ceremony was lovely and I cried, of course they were tears of joy!  After the ceremony, we all went out on the back patio that was all candle lit and she began to open her gifts.  She honored me by opening my gift first and as she peeled back the paper she cried!  She loves hand blown glass and the thought that it represented the Mother Mary holding her precious baby Jesus, just touched her heart so much.  She quickly ran to me and hugged me tight, whispering in my ear, "Thank you!"

I was so glad we had picked that beautiful piece of hand blown glass art for my friend.  She has it displayed on a pedestal in her living room; I get to visit it every time I go to my friends house; it's was truly the perfect gift for a wedding!
