blown glass, hand blown I never really knew anything about hand blown glass pieces. I had seen artsy pieces in stores but it wasn’t until I saw the Chiluhy piece, set on the roof a massive 20 foot high entrance way in the Bellagio Hotel and Casino in Vegas that it really hit home how amazing the art of blown glass is. For those who have never seen this piece in Vegas, imagine a twenty by thirty area of spectacular color on top of glass forms, all hanging from the ceiling. I have no idea how they secure such a priceless piece of blown glass but it is really something.

 

When the Bellagio opened they marketed themselves as the classiest place on the Strip. The Chiluhy art piece really hammered home that point. The amount of hours that must have went into this lobby exhibit is nothing short of spectacular. Watch the short video above to see what I am talking about. It looks like a hanging glass pot of spectacular flowers. Considering the work that goes into glass vases there most have been some serious planning put into this piece. What a place to present it too. You don’t normally put blown glass and Vegas together but in the Bellagio lobby the to coincide perfectly.
