So Much Value with the Hand Blown Touch |

With the billions of products out there only a select few made with blood, sweat and practice are truly valuable. A great example of hand crafted merchandise is hand blown glass. No matter if they are custom glass vases or the true beauty of a blown glass pendant, the time that went into this craft is as unique as it is rare. How many people do you know who work with blown glass? I can’t name any. Hand blown glass is as intricate a process as watch making and probably just as old.
My mom has this blown glass pendant she picked up sometime in her life way before my brother and I were born that still holds a vibrant reddish purple color. I have never seen her wear it probably because it is so fragile. At least it looks fragile. Knowing me, if I ever had to gift a blown glass pendant it would probably crack somewhere in between wrapping it and gifting it over to a loved one. What intrigues me so much to this craft is how liquid the process is up until the form is found. The room for error is so high. Blown glass by the best is truly a terrific craft. |
